The Cosmic Wimpout Cats in the Strangest of Places How they got in the Reading Room
One day I was at a friendÕs house and sitting on his end table were poster prints from the 20th Anniversary Cosmic Wimpout/Green River Fest. When I saw the Wimpout Symbol my past came rushing back to me. You see, back in the day me and mine were Heavy Users of the game. It then dawned on me that my friend just so happens to be a cool cat that helped bring this game to the masses. The reminiscing began; story, after story, after story!
The feeling you get when someone else has a similar feeling about something like Wimpout, music, or just having a good time allows one to feel a part of something bigger. This walk down memory lane was therapeutic to say the least. We talked about friends young and old. The number of people that I know who have similar tales about Wimpout became evident to me. I know ÒseniorsÓ that have tattoos of the symbol and young children who just like the dice. ItÕs more than a Game!
Now, how did those cats get in my ÒReading RoomÓ? Well itÕs like this, after talking about this for a while my friend offered up some of the prints. I graciously accepted two, one for myself and one for that other guy with the tattoo (and his grand children). When I went home that evening I thought about where this beauty was going to hang in my house. I just couldnÕt come up with anything. After a few days I went out and picked up a frame for the print. WouldnÕt you know it I messed up the edges screwing around? S@#? What to do now? The only thing I could think of was to paint the edges into the frame. Unfortunately or Fortunately the only paint I had was from my ÒReading RoomÓ. It just so happened they were a good match. Your past catches up to you in the strangest of places! Lucky me I get to reminisce at least once a day, sometimes more.
I feel like those little cats are always watching
me, especially the one on the right with the sneaky little eye. Shhhhh, here
they comeÉ
Thanks,
Carl
